Shooting for Pride and Prejudice (2005), which starred Keira Knightley as Lizzie Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen
as Mr Darcy, took place at a number of locations in the area, the Peak District
landscapes providing some of the film's spectacular backdrops and Chatsworth doing duty as Mr Darcy's home, Pemberley.
Burghley house, the largest and grandest house of the first Elizabethan age, has been home
of the Cecil family for more than 400 years and was used in filming as the home
of Lady Catherine de Bourg.

For the Da Vinci Code, Burghley House was used for interior and some exterior scenes involving Castel Gandolfo while
outbuildings were used for several other scenes. Lincoln Cathederal also acted as stand in to Westminster Abbey during filming of the Tom Hanks

Anthony Hopkins and Benicio Del Torro were filmed at Chatsworth House. This historic family home was transformed into a dark and moody set for this

The Duchess, released in autumn 2008, tells the story of Georgiana, fifth Duchess of Devonshire
and was shot during autumn 2007 at Kedleston Hall and Chatsworth – Georgiana's real-life home in the 1700s. The film yet again featured Keira
Knightley in the title role and promises to be another box office hit, further
establishing the Peak District & Derbyshire's reputation as a first class
