From afar the Old John Tower folly perched on a ridge of high land in Bradgate
Park resembles a colossal pint mug. The structure was built in memory of a long
term retainer of the fifth Earl of Stamford who died under a collapsing bonfire
during birthday celebrations. It overlooks 850 acres of country park teeming with
deer and wildlife. You can also explore the ruins of Bradgate House, the birthplace
of Lady Jane Grey (Nine Days Queen of England).
