Rushton Triangular Lodge

The Triangular Lodge is a folly, designed and constructed between 1593 and 1597 by Sir Thomas Tresham near Rushton, Northamptonshire, England. It is now in the care of English Heritage. The stone used for the construction was alternating bands of dark and light limestone.

Experience triple vision at Rushton Triangular Lodge where everything appears in threes. During a lengthy period of rebellion during which it was forbidden to practice the Catholic faith, Sir Thomas Tresham defiantly declared his loyalty to the Trinity by building a 3 sided lodge in which there is three of everything: windows, floors, walls.
