Film Locations

It's official! Robin Hood is returning to our screens. The new BBC series, which will feature a big-name cast, looks set to rival the recent Dr Who series. Nottinghamshire, of course, will be the fictional setting – though whether or not the real Sherwood Forest will be used remains to be seen. Thanks to the enduring popularity of Pride & Prejudice, many other parts of the East Midlands are etched indelibly on the minds of big-screen and small-screen viewers alike. In the new blockbuster movie starring Keira Knightley, Derbyshire's Chatsworth becomes Pemberley, and Burghley House in Lincolnshire becomes Rosings, while the Peak District provides some of the movie's most spectacular back-drops. Meanwhile, Lincoln Cathedral plays a starring role in the eagerly anticipated Da Vinci Code.
